The door is where months of planning meet reality — and where clipboards, rented scanners, and printed lists fall apart. Check-in runs from your staff's own phones, no hardware to rent, and there are two ways to do it: search the guest's name on the guest list, or scan the QR code on their pass. Both mark the pass used, so it can't be reused, and the list updates live for the whole team.
What you need at the door
- A phone or tablet with a camera — any recent iPhone, iPad, or Android works. Open the dashboard in the browser and sign in.
- An internet connection — wifi or cellular. Guest QR codes refresh every few seconds and the list syncs live, so the door needs to be online.
- Camera permission — the first time you open the scanner, the browser asks to use the camera. Tap Allow.
- Door staff on your team — anyone with the Run Check In permission can work the door from their own device.
In the dashboard
Open your event and go to Guest List. Everything below happens on that page.
Search by name
- Type the guest's name or email in the search box at the top of the list.
- Tap Check In on their row. A window lists every pass they hold.
- Tap a pass to check it in, or Check-In All. The row now reads 100% Checked.
Scan the QR code
- Tap the QR scanner button (the QR icon next to the search box).
- If your event has more than one door, pick your access point at the top of the scanner.
- Point the camera at the code on the guest's phone. You'll see Access granted with the guest's name — or Access denied and why — and the scanner is ready for the next guest right away.
Guests find their code on their passes page (linked from every email we send them, and from their profile). It rotates automatically, so a screenshot won't scan — ask them to open it live.
With the AI
Check-in itself happens at the door, but the assistant is useful beside it:
Is Jane Doe on the list? What passes does she have?

Last-minute changes — comps, revokes, plus-ones — land on the door list instantly.
