Seating is famously the worst night of event planning — a puzzle of couples, feuds, and entrée choices that reshuffles with every RSVP. Seating charts hand the puzzle to the AI: it lays out the floor plan first — tables, dance floor, DJ booth — then seats your guests table by table while you watch the chart update live. If you don't see Seating Chart on your event, enable it under Features & Billing.
In the dashboard
- Open your event and go to Seating Chart.
- Hit Generate (or just ask the assistant). It reads your guest list, lays out a floor plan, and checks in with you before seating anyone.
- Approve the layout and it seats everyone — parties stay together, and meal choices can drive placement ("salmon guests near the kitchen").
- Refine by talking: "make a head table facing the room", "Alice and Bob can't sit together", "add a bar in the corner".
Every change saves a version with a description, so you can always restore an earlier chart.
With the AI
The chart is built through the assistant — these all work as one-liners:
Build a seating chart for the wedding: 8 rounds around a dance floor
Swap the Smiths to Table 3 and seat the kids' meals together
